I have finally decided on what Statistics I am going to use in my animation. I am going to take advantage of experiences I've had in my job at Tesco.
The ammount of food they throw away each day was something that struck me when I started working there.
One of my tasks there is to waste food that is perfectly ok to consume lmost of the time - I hate doing it!
It's so contradictory to the news we hear all the time about hunger in the world because in theory what we throw away could feed all of those people!
I'm aware that this the fact that we waste a lot of food isn't necessarily the cause of hunger in the world but I want to show how much food waste there is in the world and compare that to the hunger in the world.
I think if I made people more aware of these facts they would probably be careful when trowing away food. I'm aiming this at both supermarkets and households.
This is a topic that really annoys me so I think that that is a good start.
I need to research further but from what I have gathered the ammount of food we waste would be nearly enough to feed all the people in Africa, etc.
