Researching Bierut's work

Through my research I have come to realize that his work his very typographically orientated. On the left are a couple of posters he produced for the Yale school of art.
He uses abstract shapes quite often which I is something I like in his work. Another thing I have noticed with his work is that the colour palette he uses is always very limited, using only black and white.
In conjunction, these two make his work captivating and give it a sleek, sophisticated appearance.
These are aspects I should take into consideration when designing the magazine layout.
I think that by using a very colourful palette I would not be communicating the right message to the audience.
