Designing a new identity for Saks Fifth Avenue - another job Michael Bierut took on board.
It was very interesting to read about the creative process behind this project.
He used a logo that was drawn for the New York retailer in 1973 (by Massimo Vignelli) and divided it into 64 squares. This enable him to make milllions of different combinations with the design and create a product that looks innovative, sleek an original.
